Tonight the Warren Central Dragons faced off against the Bowling Green Purples to crown a 14th district champion. After a close fight to the end, Braylon Banks called the game with a three, leaving only 3 seconds on the clock and closing out the game 61-59.

The Purples had some early struggles stopping the scoring of Warren Central and giving up a multitude of rebounds leading to second chance points for the Dragons.

After a couple timeouts, Coach Sherrill found a rhythm for his team that stopped the Dragons offense and eventually led to the comeback and his 10th district title as the Purples head coach.

Luke Idlett for the Purples was able to tally the game winning steal just as the Dragons attempted to dribble out the game, which eventually led to Banks’ game winner.

Warren Central, led by Ant Mcafee’s 21 points, put up a strong fight all game, even leading by as many as 13 in the second quarter.

The Purples were led by Joe Hurt who had 17 points on the night and led this team to back to back district championships.

The draw for the 4th Region Boys Tournament will be tomorrow morning at 9 AM at the Warren East Field House.
