The contest was low scoring in the first half, but the second half featured big plays from both the Spartans and the Purples. Ultimately a late touchdown pass from Bryce Button to Caden Veltkamp was the deciding score in the contest. The Purples did have a chance to tie the game up, but turned the ball on downs after an incomplete pass from Deuce Bailey looking for Trevy Barber.
